Rahukaalam / Rahu kaalam is the timing followed traditionally as per Tamil Panchangam. Rahu kaalam is not a good time to start any good activities in family and business. Rahu kaalam appears every day in the given date and these timings can be avoided.
According to Indian astrology Rahu kaalam is considered to be inauspicious. It is not the good time to start a journey or new venture or any important work. Rahu kaalam is the time when moon moves from south to north in it's orbit Rahu kaalam is the particular time of the day which is considered to be under the control of Rahu.
When Moon moves from South to North in its orbit and crosses Sun's path – the incision point is called Rahu or Dragon's Head The time of day considered to be under the influence of Rahu is called Rahukalaam and is considered inauspicious.
For Sunday, Rahukaalam is 4.30 to 6.00 Hours and Yemagandam is 12.00 to 1.30 Hours, Kuligai is 3.00 to 4.30 Hours, varasoolam is West and remedy is Jaggery.
For Monday, Rahu kaalam is 7.30 to 9.00 and Yema kandam is 10.30 to 12.00 and kuligai is 1.30 to 3.00 Hours, varasoolam is East direction and Remedy is Curd.
For Tuesday, Rahu kaalam is 3.00 to 4.30 and Yema kandam is 09.00 to 10.30 and kuligai is 12.00 to 1.30 Hours, varasoolam is North direction and Remedy is Milk.
For Wednesday, Rahu kaalam is 12.00 to 1.30 and Yema kandam is 7.30 to 9.00 and kuligai is 10.30 to 12.00 Hours, varasoolam is North direction and Remedy is Milk.
For Thursday, Rahu kaalam is 1.30 to 3.00 and Yema kandam is 6.00 to 7.30 and kuligai is 6.00 to 7.30 Hours, varasoolam is South direction and Remedy is Balm.
For Friday, Rahu kaalam is 10.30 to 12.00 and Yema kandam is 3.00 to 4.30 and kuligai is 7.30 to 9.00 Hours, varasoolam is West direction and Remedy is Jaggery.
For Saturday Rahu kaalam is 9.00 to 10.30 and Yema kandam is 1.30 to 3.00 and kuligai is 6.00 to 7.30 Hours, varasoolam is East direction and Remedy is Curd.
According to Hindu astrology, Kuligai kalam is the particular time and it lasts for 90 minutes or 1.5 hours everyday. Like rahu kalam and yamagandam, Kuligai Kalam also calculated based on Sunrise and Sunset Time. Our ancestors considered, any activities done during the time of Kuligai will be repeated often. So this time is also called as 'Blooming Time'. It is advisable to carry out any good activities during this time. It is best time to buy gold, properties and other things as it will repeat again and again.
One should not carry out any bad activities or any death rituals during this time since it will repeat again and again. Some activities like starting medication, getting loans, marriages, death ceremonies, etc. should be avoided during the period of kuligai.Our ancestors believed Kuligan(son of Lord Sani or Saturn) rules particular time on everyday. This ruling time of Kuligai is called as 'kuligai' kalam or kuligai time.
Yemakandam is considered to be in-auspicious time. The ruling time period of kethu is called Yemakandam timings. The Yemakandam timings changes everyday. It also depends on sunrise and sunset. Yemakandam lasts for 90 minutes everyday. Any activities started on this time will yield only unfavorable result. One should avoid starting any good work or any good venture in this timings. Starting any work on this time will results only in failure. Only death ceremonies will be carried out in this timings. Yemakandam is also called as 'Ketu kalam'. Our ancestors considered yemakandam as unfavorable time to start any work, since it would produce bad result.
